QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
What started as a lighthearted pastime turned into one of St. Louis’ most beloved doughnut spots. Vincent Van Doughnut was born in 2013, when Vincent Brian Marsden introduced his now-infamous handcrafted doughnuts — alongside Clyde, the iconic 1960 Ford Grumman Olson step van and the city’s first doughnut food truck.
As Vincent’s craft leveled up, so did St. Louis’ obsession with artisan doughnuts. In 2015, he took on Cooking Channel’s Donut Showdown — and won. That $10,000 prize helped launch the Clayton shop (2015–2020) and eventually led to our Grove location, which opened on Valentine’s Day in 2017. (Romantic, we know.) ❤︎
On July 23, 2024, Vincent — the man, the myth, the legend — passed the torch to longtime employee Michael McKinlay. While one era closed, the soul of Vincent Van Doughnut didn’t go anywhere. Under Mike’s leadership, we’re keeping the doughnuts fresh, the standards high, and the St. Louis community well-fed.
